Travel With Grandparents

Choosing  Accommodation That Suits You

Travel with grandparents can be a trip to remember. Grandparents and grandchildren can travel to a lot of fun places but Disney will be right at the top to remember. When it comes to hotels at Disney World, anywhere you stay is going to be done right, in true Disney style – BIG. Disney really doesn’t do anything small, so as you can imagine, the accommodations are no different. There are many places to stay at Disney World with no two fitting the same mold. Of course, there are different variations on themes and prices, so let’s take a look at the best Disney accommodations for each price range:

Value Stay

Disney’s Pop Century Resort features giant icons that salute many of the 20th-century pop culture crazes – including toys, gadgets, music, movies, fads, and catch phrases.

Different sections of the hotel represent the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. There are three swimming pools, the main flower-shaped  Pool, the smaller bowling pin shaped pool, and the computer pool, which, you guessed it, is shaped like a computer monitor. Younger guests can cool off at the Goofy Kiddie Spray Area, an interactive play fountain.

Moderate Stay

The Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is inspired by the romance and pageantry of the  French Quarter in New Orleans. This is where every day is a celebration. Step through a wrought-iron portal into an alluring world of delicious Cajun food, jazz music, and dazzling parades. Stroll down the cobblestone walkways and gaze down from balconies with delicate railings as you listen to the smooth jazz backdrop and breathe in the sweet smell of magnolia blossoms in the air. As you pass by the classic street signs, antique gas lampposts, and flowing fountains, you may just feel like you’ve been transported to Jackson Square overlooking the banks of the Mississippi.

Deluxe Stay

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a Victorian-style deluxe resort distinguished as the flagship hotel of Walt Disney World and offering world-class dining, entertainment, and luxurious accommodations in its six striking red-gabled buildings. With its gleaming white exterior, intricate gingerbread trim, and gorgeous stained-glass domes, the Grand Floridian Resort is an architectural marvel. The best part about this resort is the superb views of Cinderella Castle and the nightly fireworks at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Villas Stay

Bay Lake Tower balances a modern and luxurious experience with warm and innovative features. This description extends to its exclusive and impressive pool, complete with a unique water slide wrapped in an intriguing glass block. The luxurious rooms, which are the size of a two room suite, are furnished with contemporary custom pieces. Enjoy views that may include old-growth cypress trees, the lush landscape near Bay Lake, the courtyard, pool or Magic Kingdom.

Campgrounds Stay

If you ever wanted to combine the excitement of Disney with the calming effects of nature, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is the best place to do exactly that. Nestled on 750 wooded acres of lush pine and cypress trees, the fully equipped campsites let you camp out in comfort. Time seems to slow down while you wander the quiet trails. Roaming deer, splashing ducks, and scurrying rabbits add to the relaxing sense that you are far away from the bustle of modern civilization.

There are four different types of campsites, including Premium Campsites, which can accommodate everything from tents to 45-foot and longer vehicles, with a maximum 10 guests per site. Amenities vary, but each campsite is equipped with privacy-enhancing landscaping, water, cable television, electrical hook-ups, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Most locations include sewer hook-up. High-speed Internet access is available for an additional charge.

No matter where you choose to stay at Disney, you can be as connected or disconnected as you want. There are a lot of options for your stay to fit every budget and preference. With plenty to do around each resort, chances are you will find the entertainment or rest and relaxation you desire after leaving the excitement of the parks.
