Anxiety in children is awful and it’s even more awful how common it is. The worst thing is that it has a great impact on the development of anxiety disorders in adulthood. It’s sometimes difficult to recognize the symptoms in children, as they tend to be less clear than in adults. Some of the typical symptoms are, for example, unexplainable aches, like stomachaches or headaches, that doesn’t seem to have a physical cause. Society is to blame for most anxiety problems in children, impossible expectations from parents, high percentage of media targeting children, poor diet, etc. All of these things contribute to a child’s anxiety. Even in adults we should think more about the cause of anxiety than giving out drugs like Xanax.
